Forced Sequencing

Modified on Fri, 18 Jul at 4:12 PM

If you find that you cannot advance in a course, it could be because the instructor has chosen to use Forced Sequencing. When Forced Sequencing is applied, a student has to complete something before they can advance in the course.

When you open a document with Forced Sequencing applied, you must look at the whole document, scrolling to the bottom of the page so that the lock is removed from the next item in the Learning Module. When you scroll to the bottom, the document should then have a green check mark.  All items must be completed before the next item in the module becomes available.

The progress icons in a forced sequencing module are populated by the system. They will be grey when a student opens the document, and be replaced by the green check when the student scrolls to the bottom of the page. Even if the instructor turns off progress tracking, these tracking icons would be in place, because forced sequencing is enabled.
