Using a rubric with an offline submission

Blackboard has not yet (as of 9/19/25) invented the capability of adding a rubric to a manually-created column.  The workaround is to create an assignment, enter the assignment settings, and select  offline submission, like so: 

With this method,  you can attach a rubric in the gradebook, and you can provide directions within the assignment itself ( inside of the assignment, click the "+" icon and choose "add text").  

NOTE: When entering grades, you have to enter the date the student submitted offline to access the rubric.
