Blackboard has not yet (as of 8/20/25) invented the capability of adding a rubric to a manaully created column . The workaround is to create an assignment, enter the assignment settings, and select off-line submission.
With this method, you can attach a rubric in the gradebook, and you can provide directions in the content area. When entering grades, you have to enter the date the student submitted offline to access the rubric.
