The Course Copy process is different in Ultra than it is in Original. If you've copied course content in Original, you started with the course you were copying from and copied into a new or existing course site.

In Ultra, you initiate the copy in the course you want the content to come into rather than the course site that contains your content.

  1. First, go to the course you want to copy into
  2. If it isn't already in Ultra, you'll need to convert it. Use the icon at the top right that is an orange square with a pencil in it to start that process. Once it starts, the course will close. You'll need to open it again, then choose the option to remain in Ultra from the bar at the bottom of the site.
  3. If your course is a regular semester course (one that has a CRN), you might see four items in the Content area. Delete them all by clicking on the three dots at the right and then choosing Delete from the menu.
  4. Now your Course Content area should be empty.
  5. Click the Add Content button in the center of the Course Content area.

  6. Choose Copy Content from the menu.

  7. The Copy Items window will open, and you'll see a list of courses that you are an instructor in. You can choose from the list or search for a specific course. When you find the course, check the box to the left of its title to select it and add it to the Courses pane on the right.

  8. Click the Start Copy button.
  9. Your content should appear on-screen within just a few minutes. You will also get an email letting you know the copy is complete.

Please Note: In Ultra,  you can also copy selected content, rather than a full course.  Further directions and video instructions are available at Copy Content from Other Courses (blackboard.com)
