The primary differences between the Ultra Course View and Original Course View include:
- The Course Content page replaces Original's Course Menu. In Ultra Course View, all of the content is listed on a single page to make it easier for students to navigate. Content can be organized using Learning Modules and Folders, which can open and close to view.
- Copy Content/Course Copy can bring in a whole course or let you select individual items from other courses.
- The term "Document" replaces Item. The term "Document" refers to a page in Ultra that resembles a web page and can include images, text, uploaded files, and HTML content.
- The term File Upload replaces Files - Upload files from your desktop or cloud storage. Files can also be dragged and dropped into your course. PDF files that are uploaded.
- Gradebook in Ultra replaces Grade Center and the default Gradebook view is a list of the graded items with an option for grid view that is similar to Original's Grade Center. Grades are not visible to students by default in Ultra. You use Post when you have grades ready for your students to see. Plus, you can automatically assign zeros for assessments that are not submitted by the due date.
- Announcements. Announcements can be scheduled in advance, and are the first thing students see (as a popup) when they log in to their Ultra course. Announcements in Ultra can also be sent to students via email.
- Content (text) Editor in Ultra. Includes the functionalities to format text, add images, embed YouTube videos, and build equations. For improved accessibility, colors are limited to ensure sufficient contrast ratio. You can create HTML content blocks in a document.
- Accommodations. There is support more granular control such as when timed assignment accommodations are set for a particular student, that action is applied to all of their assignments at once.
- Tests (Quizzes) - The test building process is more intuitive with a wider array of customizable features.
