Ally is an integrated accessibility tool in Blackboard that helps ensure all students can engage with your course materials in the format that works best for them. For students, Ally automatically generates multiple alternative formats—such as audio, HTML, ePub, and more—which they can easily access by selecting the alternative formats icon next to your uploaded content.
As an instructor, you’ll see two helpful indicators: the same alternative formats icon students see, and an accessibility gauge that shows how accessible each document is. If something needs attention, Ally provides clear, step-by-step guidance on how to improve the file. The best part is that you don’t need to do anything extra for students to benefit—Ally works behind the scenes to support a more inclusive and flexible learning experience for everyone.
