Downloading Files from Blackboard

Modified on Wed, 20 Dec, 2023 at 9:31 AM

Instructors often require students to download files, such as syllabi, lesson material, and assignments. Downloadable files are labeled with, “Attached Files,” followed by the document’s name and file type, the Ally logo, and the file’s size.

Clicking the file name will download the file. The process of downloading a file depends on the browser and type of computer you are using. By default, Google Chrome (TCC’s recommended browser for Blackboard) will save a file directly to your Downloads folder. Depending on your settings, you may see a download window pop up that allows you to change the file’s name and download location.

Next to the file name is the Ally icon Ally icon. Clicking it will display a window that allows you to download attached files in an alternative format, such as PDF, ePub, electronic braille, MP3, and more. Select the desired file type in the window, and then click the Download button at the bottom right of the window.
