By default, Blackboard will send you updates regarding grades, instructor announcements, and late assignments. You can alter these settings to change what updates Blackboard sends, how often, and where.
Log in to Blackboard. In the menu on the left-hand side, find your profile link, which is labeled with your name. Click it to open your profile settings.
In your Profile Settings page, you will find the System Settings table on the right side of the screen. In the section labeled "Global Notification Settings" are options for Stream, Email, SMS, and Push notifications.
- Stream notifications are notifications in Blackboard's Activity Stream page, also found from the left-side menu.
- Email notifications are notifications sent to your TCC email.
- SMS notifications are notifications sent as text messages to a chosen phone number. Note that no options will be available until you input a phone number.
- Push notifications are notifications sent to the Blackboard mobile app.
This example displays the Email Notification Settings panel, which opens upon clicking the Email notifications link in the Global Notification Settings of the Profile Settings page. The three other panels, available either through the links in the Global Notification Settings section or by clicking the icons near the top of the open Notification Settings panel, display similar options.
Click the radio buttons (the empty circles) to change the frequency of Blackboard's updates. Click to check or uncheck the checkboxes to change what notifications you receive. When you are satisfied with your changes, click Save at the bottom of the panel, and the Notification Settings panel will close and your changes will be applied to your profile. If you have not made any changes, or wish to undo all the changes you have made, click Cancel at the bottom of the panel. The panel will then close without applying any changes to your profile.
