Posting and Replying in Discussions

Modified on Tue, 31 Mar at 10:39 AM

Posting in a discussion is relatively straightforward in Ultra. If you participate in modern forums or social media online, you may notice its similarities to that type of web design.

Go to the Discussions area of the course. This is located as a tab in the Course Menu located at the top:

Here students can locate each of the relevant discussions for their course and select the discussion to enter. Once a discussion is selected, it will navigate to the discussion area where the activity is located.

To Post:

Posting is a simple process in Ultra. To submit, locate the bottom of the Discussion Topic prompt, where there is a text box with placeholder text, labeled "Type a Post". Simply click in that box and begin your post, clicking Post when ready to submit:

NOTE: If you click Save Draft instead (located near the text box once you begin typing), neither your instructor nor your classmates will be able to see your post. If you save a post to finish later, don't forget to submit it when you finish it.

To reply:

Reply icons are found at the bottom of each respective student's comments/posts. Clicking on this reply button will open up a text box where you as a student can initiate a response/comment to the original poster:
