How to copy an entire course to a different course
The course copy function allows faculty to copy content from one course site to another.
- Go to the course that has the content you want to copy.
- In the Control Panel area (under the course menu), click on the Packages and Utilities heading. Then click Course Copy.
- You only have one option in Select Copy Type – Copy Course Materials into an Existing Course.
- In the Select Copy Options section, click the Browse button to locate the course to which you want to copy the content– the destination course site. (If you know the full Course ID, you can type or paste it in directly instead of browsing.)
- In the Browse window, select the course you want to copy to and click Submit.
- Click the Select All button.
This way you don't miss areas that you aren't aware are connected.
- In the File Attachments area, select the option to Copy links and copies of the content.
- You will get a receipt at the top of the window telling you that the action has been queued and that you will get an email telling you the process is complete. The email could come quickly, or it may take some time depending on how many processes are in the line. The completion email will be sent to your MyTCC email address.
After you receive the email…
Go back to the destination course site. Check to make sure the content has copied as you expected.
How to copy just one part of a course
Sometimes you don't want to copy an entire course; for example, maybe you teach several different courses and want to copy just your Faculty Profile from one to another. In that case, follow steps 1 through 5 above, but instead of clicking on Select All in Select Copy Options, just check the content that you want to copy.
NOTE: Items that are connected to the Grade Center (tests, assignments, discussions, etc.) will NOT copy correctly from Blackboard Original. You will need to recreate those items in your new course.
Then continue at step 7.
