One of the most useful things you can learn is how to transfer the contents of one course to another one. You might use this if: 

  • You want to copy the contents of a course from one section to another section of the same course
  • You want to copy a course you've taught in a previous semester to the next semester's course


Here's what you'll need to do. 


  1. Request a master site. If you don't know how to do that, you can read this article: How to Request a Course Master Site. 
  2. Copy the existing course to the master site. You will use Course Copy to do that. You can read this article to review that process: Using Course Copy in Blackboard. 
  3. Copy the material from the master site to the course you want it in. 


That's all there is to it! 


Note: Master sites do not expire or go away, so you'll be able to use your new master site to keep that course's content in as long as you want, and copy from it to any other courses you want to put the content in.
