Messages have been in place since we moved to Ultra-Based Navigation several years ago. They cannot be disabled; however, notifications can be controlled.
To adjust settings, navigate to the Blackboard Institution page and click on your name near the top of the left side navigation pane.
Then select "Email notifications" under "Global Notification Settings:"
From here, you can adjust what you would like to be notified about and with what frequency:
Please note: The messages look very similar to course notification emails and may be easy to overlook:
