Submitting an Assignment

When instructors want you to turn in or submit an assignment in Blackboard, the submission can be made by selecting the assignment item in question.

  1.  Go to the area of the Blackboard course where you've been directed to submit the assignment.

  2. Click on the name of the assignment item:

Your assignment or content item may look something like this, containing:

  • Details

  • Additional Information (if relevant)

  • Grades/Attempts, if any

  • Maximum Points possible

  • Date of the saved draft, if relevant

  • Amount of Attempts left

The button found at the right-hand of the window will allow you to make the actual attempt:

After submitting an assignment, you might see some changes to an item's status on the content page. This is reflected in one of three ways:

  1. An empty circle (this conveys that the item hasn't been opened)

  2. A half circle (this conveys that the item was opened and/or a draft of the submission was saved)

  3. A  green check mark (naturally, this appears when items is marked complete or submission is made)
