Your instructor has told you to submit an assignment as a PDF. There's just one problem: how do you do that?

What's a PDF?

PDF stands for Portable Document Format. Unlike Word, when a document is saved as a PDF, its contents and format will not (usually) change.

How do I view a PDF?

You can view a PDF in most browsers, or with the free Adobe Reader software, available here. If you use that link, be sure to get the free version, not the paid one.

TCC students, faculty, and staff are also able to use the full Adobe Acrobat Pro software through our institutional Creative Cloud subscription. See the software downloads page at MyTCC for more information.

How do I save my assignment as a PDF?

If you're using Word, PowerPoint, or Excel, you can use the "Save As" option in the File menu. Go to File > Save As, and then choose PDF from the dropdown menu to save your file as a PDF. You can also choose Save as Adobe PDF from the left-hand menu. You may change the name of the file if you want, or leave it the same. It will save with the file extension .pdf
